Working Horse License

You must have a license for all working horses including:

Rental horses
Horses for hire
Horses used for commercial purposes

Fees

The license fee is $25.

The renewal fee is $25 per year.

Expiration Date

The license expires after 1 year.

Renew Online

You can renew through DOHMH’s license and permit portal. You need to have an account and a Personal Identification Number (PIN).

Renew by Mail

Several weeks before your license expires, the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) will mail you a renewal package. Follow the directions on the renewal notice to renew by mail.

You can submit your application in person. An appointment is required.
