Tanning Establishment Permit

Businesses that charge fees, indirectly or directly, for using tanning machines need a permit.

These businesses include:

Tanning parlors and salons
Hair and nail salons
Gyms and health clubs
Apartment buildings
Condominiums
Country clubs
Hotels

Fee

The permit fee is $30, plus $50 for each UV device in the establishment.

Expiration Date

The permit expires every 2 years.

You can renew through DOHMH’s license and permit portal. You need to have an account and a Personal Identification Number (PIN).

Renew by Mail

Several weeks before your permit expires, the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) will mail you a renewal package. Follow the directions on the renewal notice to renew by mail.
